Virgil Man Accused of Growing Marijuana in his Barn

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say deputies found dozens of marijuana plants growing in a Virgil man’s barn after following up on a tip.

Investigators say they searched 42 year old Kevin Piotti’s property on West State Road May 3, found the 65 pot plants and discovered a child under 17 years old had access to the barn.

Piotti is charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana and misdemeanor counts of growing cannabis without a license and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in Town of Virgil Court May 15.
