A Florida man is currently facing a series of charges following a firearms-related incident in the Village of Endicott.

The incident, which took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, involved the individual, identified as Jack A. Hawe, age 62 of Zephyrhills.

The ordeal began at approximately 8:09 a.m. when the Broome County Sheriff’s Office patrols received a report from the Endicott Police Department regarding a male suspect who had allegedly pointed a handgun at a female on Madison Avenue in the Village of Endicott. The suspect fled the scene in a red Dodge Caravan.

Shortly after the initial report, Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies identified the vehicle in question traveling north on Glenwood Road in the Town of Dickinson. A traffic stop was conducted, and a loaded Glock model 43X 9mm pistol was discovered tucked into Hawe's waistband during the inspection. Moreover, additional ammunition was found inside the vehicle.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, Jack A. Hawe was charged with the following offenses: Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor

Hawe was promptly processed on the aforementioned charges by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office before being handed over to the Endicott Police Department for further processing related to their initial investigation. Following the necessary procedures, Hawe was returned to the custody of the Broome County authorities.
