Vestal’s “Longest Running Establishment” to Hold Celebration
A business in the town of Vestal that's been in operation for more than nine decades is planning to hold a special party for its patrons.
The Vestal Inn at 656 Front Street bills itself as "the longest running establishment" in the town.
The owners say the bar has been around for 93 years and that's cause for a celebration.
Brittany Rose Miller said the Vestal Inn "will have been running as the local watering hole for 93 years on March 4th."
She said the establishment has been operated by a few families over that time. She said the place has thrived, survived, and become a home to local residents who were born and raised in Vestal."
Miller said the business was started by the Olenski family in 1933. Since then, it's been operated by the Makarowski family, the Smart family, the Stantons and now the Millers.
She said the inside of the Vestal Inn is very similar to what the place looked like when the spot was converted from a gas station into a bar.
The celebration of the Vestal Inn's 93rd birthday will be in the form of a karaoke event on Saturday starting at 7 p.m.
