The investigation and clean up continues after someone vandalized Dorchester Park in northern Broome County overnight August 29.

The boat house was unable to open on time August 30 after Broome County Park employees found several boats, vehicles, buildings and landscaping damaged.

Broome Security Director James Dadamio said officials are assessing the financial loss and documenting the damage. Anyone with information can call the Broome County Sheriff’s Tip Line at (607) 778-1196.

County Executive Jason Garnar issued a statement saying, quote: “There is always one idiot who ruins the fun for everyone else. It is disgusting and childish that someone would damage public property at Dorchester Park.

The facilities were able to open to the public in the afternoon August 30 after some hasty cleanup, but some equipment needs to be replaced and more repairs made.
