New York State Police say a Utica teen is accused of leading them on a chase through three counties October 9 in a stolen Humvee.

Authorities saw a red 2007 Hummer traveling South on State Route 12 in the Town of Norwich at 9:26 p.m. and determined the vehicle had been stolen from Utica and had been in a pursuit earlier in the day in Oneida County.

Troopers chased 17 year old La-Tee Baker after the vehicle continued to travel south on Route 12 into Broome County.

The Hummer was finally stopped after authorities used tire deflation devices on Front Street near Dunkin Donuts in the Town of Chenango to blow the two front tires.

Troopers say Baker fled on foot into a wooded area and was pursued by State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s K-9s.

At around 3:45 a.m. October 10, Baker was found in the area of Interstate 81 near Otsiningo Park in the Town of Dickinson, where he was taken into custody.

The teen was charged with felony counts of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of stolen property and was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
