It's a recurring problem in the City of Binghamton and elsewhere: big trucks becoming wedged under low bridges.  Now, U.S. Senator Charles Schumer is calling on the federal department of transportation to investigate a rising number of truck vs. bridge crashes.  Schumer says he would like to see nationwide standards for global positioning systems in trucks.  According to Schumer, GPS devices are directing truckers onto roads where they are not legally allowed to drive.
