Two Suspects in Custody Following Binghamton Shooting
Binghamton police apprehended two men following a shooting incident in the city's First Ward.
Multiple gunshots were reported in the area of Emma Street and Lake Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.
Police officers searched the neighborhood west of Glenwood Avenue. A gun believed to have been used in the incident was found within a matter of minutes.
One possible suspect was taken into custody shortly after the reported shooting.
A Broome County Sheriff's Office canine unit was used in the search.
Trains were halted for a time as police officers and detectives looked for the second suspect along railroad tracks just south of the shooting scene.
Investigators were observed looking for evidence behind a home on Lake Avenue.
