Two Hurt in Rush-Hour Crash in Downtown Binghamton
Authorities say two people were injured when two sport utility vehicles collided near the downtown Binghamton bus station.
The crash at the intersection of Chenango and Henry streets occurred around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.
The SUVs - a Subaru Crosstrek and a Honda Pilot - slammed into each other on the north side of the busy intersection.
Ambulances transported two people from the scene of the crash. They apparently sustained minor injuries.
Two adults were in the Subaru. Three adults and a baby were in the Honda. The baby was reported to have been in a child seat and appeared to be unhurt.
The late-afternoon crash drew a crowd of onlookers from the bus station and the Broome County DMV office.
Police said the operator of one of the vehicles apparently made an illegal turn, resulting in the collision. That driver was expected to be issued a ticket.
