Twin Tiers to End Week With Heavy Snow Potential
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of the Twin Tiers from 10 p.m. Thursday, February 24 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 25.
According to a statement issued at 3:36 a.m. February 23, forecasters are calling for heavy mixed precipitation to close out the week.
The Watch area includes Broome, Tioga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware and Oneida Counties in New York as well as areas to the north up to Watertown and, in Pennsylvania: Susquehanna, Bradford and Wayne Counties in the Northern Tier and continuing south past Scranton.

For the Greater Binghamton area, NOAA says total snow and sleet accumulations of six to seven inches or more are possible in a 12-hour period.
Forecasters caution travel could become difficult and hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute on Friday.
Meanwhile, for February 23, temperatures are expected to nose-dive from readings in the mid 50s at 3 a.m. into the mid 30s by late afternoon and evening, bottoming out in the teens overnight into Thursday morning.
