Twin Tiers COVID Death Toll Continues Upward March

The coronavirus pandemic death toll continues to march upward in the Twin Tiers.

In what is becoming a daily occurrence, Broome County reports two new deaths in the September 20 update. Broome County’s death toll is now at 372. There were 53 new cases reported with 697 active cases.

Cortland adds one fatality, bringing the death toll to 72. Cortland had 96 new cases reported September 20.

Chenango, Delaware and Tioga Counties recorded no new fatalities. Chenango added 50 new cases for the day, Delaware, which reports Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays reported 65 new cases since September 17 and Tioga County added 8 cases.

In Pennsylvania, Bradford County recorded three additional deaths over the past week bringing the county pandemic deaths to 105. Wayne County lost four more residents to the pandemic in the last week. The death toll there stands at 89. There were no additional fatalities for the week in Susquehanna County, which added 62 cases. Bradford added 119 cases and Wayne County reported 122 additional cases over the week.
