Troy, Pa. Woman Issues Social Media Warning

The victim of a fraud in Bradford County Pennsylvania is passing along a warning.

State Police say the 81 year old Troy woman wanted to remind people to check directly with their internet friends before responding to a request for money.  This comes after a person hacked a Facebook account of a friend of the woman and convinced her to send $1,700 to several locations to supposedly get help in obtaining additional financial assistance from the Workers Compensation Appeal Board.

The investigation into the theft is continuing.
