Town of Binghamton Fire Investigated

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Officials are investigating the cause of a house fire in the Town of Binghamton that displaced a family but resulted in no injuries March 30.

The blaze was reported at the home on Park Avenue at around 2 p.m. and damaged a portion of the roof as well as spreading to surrounding property, burning about five acres.

There had been five people living in the home.

Several fire crews responded to the scene and had the blaze out in less than a half hour but the home still suffered damage to one section of the roof.
