Nearly three years after his death, the Facebook page of state Senator Thomas Libous has become active with messages attacking a Republican lawmaker.

The last post on the Binghamton Republican's page was in May 2016 when his family announced his death.

After more than 1,000 days, the account is active again with posts blasting Assemblyman Clifford Crouch, a Chenango County Republican.

The posts - which apparently are the work of Nicholas Libous, one of the late senator's two sons - criticize Crouch's position on abortion rights legislation.

Nicholas Libous unsuccessfully challenged Crouch in a GOP primary for the Assembly seat last September.

One Facebook post stated: "Shame on you Cliff. You cannot lie about the facts anymore."

Some Facebook users criticized Nicholas Libous for using his dad's account in a political dispute.

One person wrote: "Pretty sad you're using Tom's page to get your message out. Why don't you use your own page?"
