Three Suspects Arrested in Binghamton Armed Home Invasion
Two men and one woman have been apprehended after they allegedly forced their way into a Binghamton residence while armed with guns.
Authorities say police were called to 268 Oak Street a few minutes after midnight Tuesday.
A caller reported an armed home invasion by several adults was in progress.
Several city police officers rushed to the scene, along with a Broome County Sheriff's Office sergeant who was in the area when the call went out.
The sergeant, who arrived first, noticed people running from the area. He pursued them on foot through backyards. The suspects were tracked down on Markey Court, a dead-end street one block east of where the home invasion occurred.
Investigators say guns were recovered. They say no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Detectives say 38-year-old Monte Jackson, 34-year-old Joseph Weibel and 24-year-old Chelsey Kuzda have been charged with first-degree burglary, a felony. All three live on Mary Street on the city's South Side.
