Workers have started the complicated process of drilling a new well to provide a reliable source of drinking water for the village of Endicott.

A long search for a location to develop a new well to supply the Endicott village water system has paid off.

Work is almost finished on a system to allow Endicott and Vestal to provide emergency water backup to the neighboring communities.

A crane has positioned a big prefabricated pump station onto a concrete base near Union-Endicott High School.

The Endicott and Vestal water systems soon will be able to supply each other in emergency situations.
