21 years ago, Binghamton made headlines when a man checked into Motel 6, covered everything in Vaseline, and left without explanation.

Authorities say an alleged parole violator had possessed heroin and cocaine while staying at a motel in the town of Chenango.

Twelve years have passed since a man slathered Vaseline on every surface of a Broome County motel room. When police found him at a nearby motel, he was "smeared from head to foot" with the petroleum jelly.
