Broome County Executive Jason Garnar has declared a state of emergency in an effort to prevent New York City from sending asylum seekers to the Binghamton area.
As the Southern Tier braces for a winter storm, both Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and New York Governor Kathy Hochul have declared a State of Emergency.
"Crime in Broome County is on the decline, down 17% from where it was in 2017," Jason Garnar said in his State of the County address which also highlighted first responders.
Local politicians gathered in Binghamton's First Ward on Thursday to announce an open house for the North of Main Revitalization affordable housing project.
