Susquehanna Gas Drilling Worker Dies Following Injury at Well Site
Pennsylvania State Police and federal authorities are investigating the death of a gas drilling company worker after suffering an injury in Susquehanna County.
According to an Associated Press report, Cabot Oil & Gas, an ambulance was called shortly after midnight April 14 to Rush Township in Susquehanna County for an injured contract worker.
The State Police say the incident happened at a gas drilling site on Hoag Hill Road and the death of 46-year-old Delyle Chappel of Evanston, Wyoming has been listed as 'accidental.'
The company says the Chappel was transported to Montrose Hospital and was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Pennsylvania State Police released the worker's name in a news release April 15.
State police and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating, and the company says “all parties are cooperating with authorities."
