The number of positive coronavirus cases and deaths in New York, Pennsylvania and in local communities continues to march up but at a slower rate from a month ago while officials stress residents should not relax.

Non-essential travel restrictions remain in place, non-essential businesses and schools are closed and people are required to wear face-coverings when going out in public in an effort to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York, Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania and their counterparts throughout the country are warning that resuming “normal” activities, not practicing social distancing and relaxing sanitizing routines will likely result in an increase in cases and deaths again and overwhelm healthcare systems.

Over the weekend, however, Governor Cuomo announced some marinas would be allowed to reopen provided they guarantee social distancing and properly sanitize public areas and some privately-owned golf courses would allow to reopen but without club houses and staff other than groundskeepers and no golf carts.
