
Sidney Man Charged With Drug Possession in Johnson City Traffic Stop
Johnson City Police say a Sidney man is facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop in the Village.
52-year-old Jason Babcock was pulled over on Main Street at around 4:30 p.m. November 25th for a traffic violation when officers say they smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle.
Police say they found Babcock had 8 grams of cocaine and $1,235 in suspected drug proceeds in the vehicle. Two passengers were allegedly in possession of marijuana and a third passenger was charged with possessing several hypodermic needles.
Babcock is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of displaying a forged inspection sticker.
Babcock was sent to the Broome County Jail while his passengers were issued tickets to appear in Johnson City Village Court at a later date.
