Shots Fired and Stabbing Investigated in Binghamton
City of Binghamton Police are investigating a number of incidents in the First Ward and West Side over the past several days, including shots fired and a stabbing.
Authorities say they found evidence of shots fired in the Chelsea Square area in the First Ward at 3:11 a.m. February 16 and around 6:45 p.m. February 17 in the 100 block of Chapin Street.
Police say a vehicle not believed to be associated with a suspect in the Chapin Street report was hit by gunfire and impounded by authorities.
In both cases, police scoured the area and found no victims or suspects.
Police say they don’t believe the Chapin Street incident was connected with the Chelsea Square report. The investigations into both continue.
