Chenango County Sherriff’s officials say that they attempted to stop 26-year-old John Quinn on July 13th, when he fled from officers.  During the pursuit, Quinn threw several items from the vehicle, which officers determined to be Methamphetamine.

Deputies were able to pull Quinn and his passenger over on Kendrick road in the Town of Sherburne, where Quinn was taken into custody.

Quinn is charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Laboratory Material, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Possession of Precursors to Methamphetamine and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, all felony charges.

Quinn is being held on $50,000 bail and is to reappear in Town of Sherburne Court at a later date.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was called in to clean up the hazardous material thrown along the roadway.
