The owners of a Binghamton restaurant noted for serving spiedies and clams for the past seven decades are looking for a buyer.

Sharkey's Bar and Grill on Glenwood Avenue in the city's First Ward has been put on the market.

The business opportunity was first reported by WICZ and a restaurant employee confirmed that the place is on the market. The owners were not immediately available to comment.

A Keller Williams real estate listing shows an asking price of $450,000.

Sharkey's was launched by Peter and Victoria Sharak in 1947. The place has been owned and operated by the Sharak family ever since.

Spiedies became a popular feature for Sharkey's patrons shortly after the place opened. According to the restaurant's website, the spiedie recipe is a "family heirloom that's been passed down and perfected over the years."
