Security Mutual Work Closes Parts of Two Binghamton Streets
A painting project at the Security Mutual Building in Binghamton is affecting traffic on two downtown streets.
Sections of Court and Exchange streets near the iconic 10-story structure are closed while the work is underway.
The job began nearly a month ago. A five-person crew from a Conklin company has been busy sprucing up the exterior of the building.
A protective canopy was erected over the sidewalks on both sides of the structure to protect pedestrians. The main entrance on Court Street remains accessible while the project is underway.
The painting project is expected to be completed in a few days.
