Second Man Arrested in Binghamton Armed Robbery
Binghamton police have taken another suspect into custody in connection with a downtown armed robbery.
Authorities say 31-year-old James Fenstemacher of Pine Street has been charged with second-degree robbery. He was taken into custody by city police on Wednesday evening.
Investigators say Fenstemacher is accused of using a handgun during a February 20 robbery at an apartment house at 56 Pine Street. The crime scene is a half-block from his residence.
Detectives say Fenstemacher allegedly took another man's wallet and phone.
Police nabbed one suspect who was spotted leaving the apartment house as officers arrived moments after a witness reported seeing a man with a gun entering the building.
The first man arrested was 23-year-old Kyle Adkins of Fayette Street. He also was charged with second-degree robbery.
Investigators had said the men showed up at the house for a drug deal. Police say no other suspects are being sought in connection with the robbery.
