The bridge over State Street was removed last month.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David's office says the covered walkway between Metrocenter and the Water Street Parking Garage, adjacent to Boscov's Department Store is being torn down over the few weeks.

Water Street between Court Street and the Water Street parking garage is to be closed to traffic for about three weeks during the demolition.

Access to the parking facility will be maintained through the process.

Gorick Construction of Binghamton is doing the demolition work.  The cost for taking out both unused walkways is $232,000, which is being covered through the City's capital fund.
