Search Warrant Turns Up Child Pornography
The Broome County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Johnson City man after the execution of a search warrant at his Oakdale Road home.
Sheriff's Officials say the warrant was served at 338 Oakdale Road Friday morning while the resident and suspect, 50-year-old Thomas Bell was not at home. The warrant was a result of a child pornography investigation.
Police say they found a computer that was actively downloading child pornography from a file shearing site. Bell was taken into custody a short time later in the Town of Vestal.
Bell is charged with promoting a sexual performance of a child, which is a felony charge. He was arraigned in the Town of Union court and released pending further action by the court.
