For the most part, road crews have been keeping up with the snow that started falling on the area early in the day Sunday, February 4 and continued into the overnight hours.

The persistent snow even prompted over a half dozen school districts in the region to call in delayed openings overnight. That number quickly exploded to several dozens as the morning progressed.

Slippery conditions are still reported at higher elevations, on bridges, ramps and outlying areas.  There is also the potential for some blowing of snow even though most areas are reporting fairly high water content.

Due to the snow, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reduced the speed limits on the interstates in Northeastern Pennsylvania, including Interstate 81, 84 and 380 to 45 miles per hour until further notice.
