A Northeast Pennsylvania man is facing a felony charge after he reportedly threatened to “shoot everybody” at the Athens Area Schools.  A voice mail message left at the district January 24th containing the threat was turned over to the Athens Borough Police.

The day after the district received the threat, the high school, Rowe Middle School and Lynch Bustin Elementary School were put into lock down.

50 year old Daniel Bouchardt went to the police station on the 26th to talk about the voice mail. He reportedly told police he had skipped medication he was supposed to be taking for a mental disorder.

Bouchardt is charged with felony terroristic threats causing serious public inconvenience.

After a health evaluation at Robert Packer Hospital, he was sent to the Bradford County Jail on $65,000 bail.
