Sayre Man Accused of Pointing Gun at Waverly Police Officer
A Sayre, Pennsylvania man is accused of pointing a gun at a Waverly Police officer while he tried to flee from a traffic stop.
Village Police say 23-year-old Devan Kithcart was stopped Halloween night but had fled.
He was found walking on Clark Street at around 5 a.m. Monday, November 1 and began running. A Waverly Police Officer gave chase through a parking lot when the officer saw Kithcart displaying a handgun, pointing it directly at him.
Several Police agencies joined in chasing Kithcart through several back yards and took him into custody. A loaded firearm was recovered during the arrest.
Kithcart was in need of attention for an unspecified medical issue and was taken to a hospital in Sayre before being booked into the Bradford County Jail to await further action.
Waverly Police have filed a felony count of menacing a police officer against Kithcart.
