Report of Shots Fired in Binghamton’s First Ward
City of Binghamton Police are investigating an incident in which shots were apparently fired in the First Ward February 2.
Sources say some shell casings were recovered in the reported incident after 5 p.m. in the area of Gregory Lane and Starr Avenue. There were no reports of injuries.
Meanwhile, other law enforcement agencies were kept busy with complaints associated with overly enthusiastic football fans.
Broome County Emergency Services officials said there had been some calls during the time of the Superbowl of possible gunshots but those complaints turned out to be fireworks.
