A man and a woman were arrested on prostitution-related charges after they were found with a 3-year-old child in a car at an Endicott park early Saturday morning.

Authorities say a village police officer on patrol saw the parked vehicle at Riverview Park around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police say an investigation determined the man was intoxicated and had driven the car to the park because he had agreed to pay the woman for sex. The man's young child was in the car at the time.

Investigators say 45-year-old Alfred Walker of Tracy Street was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with an underage passenger and patronizing a prostitute. He also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say 28-year-old Sarah Gelatt of Lincoln Avenue was charged with prostitution.

Walker was arraigned in Endicott village court and sent to Broome County Jail. Gelatt was released on an appearance ticket.

The child was released to a family member.
