The New York State Department of Transportation is not taking a winter break from construction on the Prospect Mountain project.

The DOT says this week, through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, crews will be working in the area between exit 3 (Broad Avenue) and the I81/Route 17 split in the City of Binghamton on concrete barriers, reducing traffic to one lane.

Traffic is also to be down to one lane between exit five and Bigelow Street for noise wall foundation work.

Flagging operations are also planned on Broad Avenue between the I81/Route 17 on and off ramps for excavation work for the installation of retaining walls.
