Pretend Candy-Sellers Accused of Stealing Purse in the Town of Union

A Johnson City teen and three others are accused of scamming their way into a home on the pretense of selling candy and stealing the homeowner’s purse.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials have only released information on the arrest of 17 year old Dominic Kasmarcik on a felony charge of grand larceny and misdemeanor conspiracy.  The other three suspects are said to be juveniles.

Officials say one of the participants distracted the homeowner while the others took the purse containing credit cards and cash.

The items were recovered.

Kasmarcik was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
