Officials say a Port Crane home is salvagable after sustaining damage in a two alarm fire Saturday morning.Crews from nine fire companies responded to the house at the corner of Vincent and Tunnel Roads shortly after 9:30.  Firefighters from Sanitaria Springs, Port Crane, Harpursville, Chenango Forks, West Colesville, West Windsor, Chenango Bridge, Oquaga and Greene companies spent several hours at the scene.

Crews were able to contain the blaze to one section of the home and were able to save the rest of the house.

Investigators say it appears the blaze was caused by a wood-burning stove.

A resident of the house escaped with a dog but one firefighter was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center for treatment of a minor arm injury.
