New Polish Restaurant Opening in Downtown Binghamton
A man who recently moved to Binghamton with his young family is preparing to launch an eatery featuring Polish cuisine in the heart of downtown.
Daniel Nowacki acquired the three-story building at 163 Washington Street. The property is located next to the Metro Center's main entrance off Court Street.
The new restaurant will be called Polish Bistro European Kitchen. Nowacki said he previously operated a Polish restaurant in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
Nowacki told WNBF News he wanted to run a restaurant in a property that he owned, instead of leasing space for his business.
He spent some time searching for an appropriate spot before he settled on Binghamton. He said he's enjoyed getting acquainted with the area as he gets ready to launch the new restaurant.
Nowacki is planning a complete reconstruction of the ground floor of the building where Polish Bistro will operate.
The restaurant is expected to be open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. Nowacki is aiming to launch operations by the end of November.
The spot has been vacant since Los Amigos - a restaurant that featured Latin cuisine - closed nearly two years ago.
