Three people are facing charges after authorities working a “Gun Involved Violence Elimination” or “GIVE” detail found two suspicious vehicles in the Rutherford Street, Binghamton area early in the morning November 23 and ended up arresting three men and recovering two handguns, one of them stolen, and 2.3 pounds of marijuana.

21-year-old Travor Arter, 20-year-old Edwin McCray and 22-year-old Gaven Knighton, all of Binghamton are charged with felony weapon and marijuana possession. McCray is also charged with felony counts of tampering with evidence and criminal possession of stolen property while Knighton was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon with a previous conviction.  All three were sent to the Broome County Jail.

Police say when they approached the vehicles on Rutherford Street, one suspect fled the area while the other three were arrested.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the City of Binghamton Police Detective Bureau at (607) 772-7080.
