Police Find Heroin, Meth During Traffic Stop in Endicott
Two people face drug charges after police discovered suspected heroin and methamphetamine following a traffic stop in the village of Endicott.
Authorities say 29-year-old Stevi Griffith of Towanda and 37-year-old Jason Murray of Athens were arrested Monday.
According to New York State Police, troopers pulled over a vehicle on East Main Street around 3:30 a.m. when they saw Griffith driving with an equipment violation. They also observed the woman "making strange movements" in the vehicle.
Troopers found a loaded syringe with a mixture of suspected heroin and methamphetamine in Griffith's bra. They also discovered bags of suspected heroin.
Griffith and Murray were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both were released on appearance tickets. They are scheduled to appear in Endicott village court on July 10.
