Investigators say 23-year-old Kyle Adkins of Fayette Street has been charged with second-degree robbery, a felony.

Detectives say police were called by "an alert witness" who was near the vacant two-family apartment house. The caller noticed a man with a gun entering the rear of the building.

Police determined a group of men showed up at the house to follow through on a planned drug deal. The men robbed another person at gunpoint. Investigators did not say what was taken.

One man who ran out of the house as police arrived managed to elude officers. That masked suspect was described as tall with a slender build. He was last seen heading south toward Court Street.

A replica weapon - an air gun - was recovered by police near the house.

People with information about the incident or the other suspects may contact the Detective Bureau at 607.772.7080.
