Pennsylvania’s coronavirus infection rate is continuing to climb back up for another week.

The Commonwealth’s infection rate has increased more than 40 percent in recent weeks, including cases in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf March 29 said the state added 17,811 cases. The previous seven-day increase was 14,632 cases.  The state-wide positivity rate went from 6.5% to 7.6%.

Over the past week Bradford County reported 153 new cases, Susquehanna County 94 and Wayne County added 74 cases.  Bradford and Wayne Counties each report one new death.

In the Southern Tier, over the weekend, Broome County passed the 16,000 case mark for the pandemic.  March 29, the County reported 34 new cases and a total of 16.050 cases.  The death toll remains at 327.  Cortland County added nine cases for a total of 4,017.  Deaths remain at 62. Chenango County reported 71 new cases for a total of 2,771. Deaths remain at 64.  Delaware had 28 new cases for a total of 1,916. Deaths remain at 45 and Tioga County reported 24 additional cases since March 27 for a total of 3,185.  The death toll remains at 71.
