Pedestrian Killed in Bradford County

A Northeast, Pennsylvania man is dead after he was hit by a sport utility vehicle while walking on Ellenton Mountain Road in Canton Township in Bradford County.

State Police say 78 year old Edwin Kalmbach was hit at 8:58 p.m. August 3 by a 2003 GMC Yukon that was traveling south as he was walking north.

Troopers say Kalmbach had already been taken to Robert Packer Hospital by the time they arrived on the scene.  The driver of the SUV was still at the site and was cooperating with authorities.

State Police were informed the next day by staff at Robert Packer Hospital that Kalmbach had succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
