Several people opposed to a United States military strike against Syria gathered in front of the Binghamton Federal Building to express their views.

The demonstration Monday afternoon was held as part of a weekly protest organized by Broome County peace and justice activists.

James Clune of Binghamton said many drivers who passed by the group showed support for non-intervention.

Some motorists shouted words of encouragement to the protesters as they stood on a sidewalk at the intersection of Henry and State streets.
