Binghamton University men's soccer coach Paul Marco has been named the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) recipient of the Mike Berticelli Excellence in Teaching Award.  The award is named in memory the of long-time Notre Dame coach who was the NSCAA's Vice President of Education when he passed away in 2000.

Coach Marco has been on the NSCAA staff since 1996.  He has also instructed more than 150 residential and non-residential courses over that time. He has been an NSCAA Master Coach Diploma mentor for two cycles and in June, 2014 he taught an on-site course at the World Cup in Brazil.

Marco is in his 14th season as the head men's soccer coach at BU.  During his tenure the Bearcats have won America East Conferences championships in 2003 and 2006 and a pair of regular season conference titles in 2006 and 2007.  The Bearcats are currently 7-5-2 and 2-1-1 in America East competition which puts BU in a three-way tie for first place.  Coach Marco will join Roger Neel at 8:10 a.m. October 23 on News Radio 1290 WNBF to preview Binghamton's home match versus UMBC on October 24 at 1:00 p.m.
