Part of Vestal Road to Close for Paving

Motorists who frequently use the eastern end of Vestal Road should be prepared to take a different route next week.

The Broome County Department of Public Works says Vestal Road will be closed between the intersection of Route 434 Westbound and Vestal Road to 4535 Vestal Road at the White Rose Day Spa starting at 8 a.m. Monday, April 26 through 5 p.m. Friday, April 30 for paving work.

All traffic will need to seek alternate routes.  A signed detour will be in place during the closure.

Many westbound motorists opt to take Vestal Road, aka Old Vestal Road, to avoid traffic and lights around the Binghamton University Vestal campus.

Access to Vestal Road businesses is not expected to be greatly impacted since customers will still be able to approach from the east end of the detour.
