Oxford Man Accused of Stealing Animals Turns Self In
An Oxford man is accused of burglarizing a home in December, stealing animals among other property.
Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say 42-year-old Jason Barrows turned himself in to authorities January 3 in connection with the theft of more than $1,000-worth of items from the home in the Town of Preston.
Investigators say Barrows is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny.
He’s accused of forcing his way into a home on December 18 and stealing property, including some animals that did not add into the dollar amount calculated for the stolen items. He’s also accused of destroying several windows on a motor vehicle at the victim’s home.
Barrows was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 bail.
