Owego’s Mayor will be paying a $300 fine and won’t be able to drive for three months after pleading guilty to driving while ability impaired.

Kevin Millar was stopped by police in Waverly in February for not having a front license plate and subsequently charged with driving with ability impaired by alcohol/drugs.

In a plea deal, the 67 year old was given a conditional discharge, fined and had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days.

Following his arrest and before the Tioga County Sheriff’s office issued a news release, Millar took to social media to issue an apology to residents saying he had made a mistake and his constituents deserved better.

The Democrat was re-elected to a second term in March.
