Owego Man Accused of Intending to Harm a Child

Village of Owego Police say a Tioga County man is accused of intending to injure a child.

According to a news release from the department, 33-year-old Steven Bunting of Owego was arrested Thursday in an investigation into a child abuse complaint.

He is charged with felony Assault With a Deadly Weapon and Assault With Intent to Cause Injury to a Person Under 7 Years Old and five misdemeanor counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

No details of the alleged incident are being released.

Village Police say Bunting was released on his own recognizance following his arraignment.
