A 47-year-old man was arrested after an employee at a town of Otsego transfer station was struck by a vehicle.

Authorities say Eric Slater of Cooperstown was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment following the incident at the Mosa Northern facility on Route 28.

State police say Slater allegedly became irate when the worker tried to close and lock the front gate of the transfer station.

Investigators say after an altercation with the employee, Slater drove his vehicle forward and struck the unlocked gate and the worker as he drove on.

Slater is said to have dropped off some trash and made a payment before he left.

Slater was ordered to appear in Otsego town court on December 17.
