Binghamton Woman Killed in Crash on Interstate 81 in Kirkwood

UPDATE: A Binghamton resident is dead following a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Broome County.

New York State Police said 33-year-old Jocelyn Kendall of Binghamton was pronounced dead at the scene of Wednesday morning's crash in the town of Kirkwood.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Authorities say a vehicle veered off Interstate 81 south of Binghamton, slamming into a tree, resulting in the death of the driver.

According to New York State Police, the crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday near Exit 2 in the town of Kirkwood.

Investigators say the vehicle was northbound on I-81 when it went off the shoulder of the highway and struck the tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The person's name was not released by state police.

No additional information was available about the crash.
