One man died and another was hospitalized with injuries after they were struck by a flatbed truck in Cortland County.

Authorities say 80-year-old Oniel Lang of McGraw died at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Lang initially had been taken to Cortland Regional Medical Center.

Investigators say 24-year-old David Tobias of Cincinnatus also was hit by the truck on Route 41 in the village of McGraw.

Tobias was being treated for his injuries at the Cortland hospital.

According to New York State Police, the truck was driven by 29-year-old Jonas Whaley of Cincinnatus. Officials say the vehicle was westbound on Route 41 when it jumped the curb. The truck struck the two men and hit a vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the roadway.
